Websites I’ve created.

I spent late nights working on these websites.

Revolution Energy Ventures

Completion Date: March 2009

Description: Revolution Energy Ventures is a small company founded by three energy and efficiency experts. They needed a simple and clean website to describe services the company offers. After several weeks of phone calls, emails, and meetings, a website was born.

Testimonials: “We really appreciate the creativity and energy Tevan brought forward when working with us on our Web site. […] He is accountable, talented, and has consistently demonstrated the ability to produce great work. I would recommend working with Tevan without reservation.”

Justin Davis, Co-Founder
Revolution Energy Ventures, LLC

“I had the pleasure of working with Tevan on developing the REV website. Not only did he bring his technical expertise to the process, but he contributed his own creative eye and full energy as if the website he were developing were for his own product.”

Charlie Fitzgerald, Co-Founder
Revolution Energy Ventures, LLC

Textgasm

Completion Date: May 2008

Description: This was a particularly fun project. The goal was to create an interactive website where people can anonymously post their secrets PostSecret- and Twitter-style in 140 characters or less. Visitors could then vote and comment on secrets. Since the site went live, over 1,000 secrets and 1,000 comments have been shared and over 7,000 votes have been cast.

The name of the site, Textgasm, preceded the idea. The general concept for the site came from Iain Cochrane, who suggested the site be used for people to post their fantasies anonymously. I broadened the idea to secrets to attract a potentially wider audience.

One challenge of building the site was rewriting part of the voting system, essentially to make it more efficient, secure, and accurate. For example, something as simple as storing IP addresses in VARCHAR(15) fields in the database rather than one LONGTEXT field was a straightforward but necessary improvement.

Seven Months

Duration: March – December 2005

Description: Seven Months is a travelogue I kept during my international travels in 2005. I uploaded pictures and posted journal entries about my experiences every few days. The pictures are a popular part of the site, luring a couple thousand unique visitors per month.

While the site was built a number of years ago, it documents an important period of my life and subsequently holds a dear place in my heart.
